Chef Hermes turns 4 years old

The 21st of February 2010 was an important day for me. Chef Hermes started, & who’d have thought it would have grown to this.

Originally, it started out to prove a point to a bunch of individuals on a forum, but quickly it grew beyond that and into a life of its own. Now 4 years on, it has a presence on most of the social networks, and viewing figures have yet to reach any form of plateau. Of course it hasn’t been all plain sailing, to date there has been 1 High Court injunction & 2 Lawyers letters; there’s nothing like a bit of potential litigation to focus the mind ;-) .

I said in my opening post:

Hopefully there will be a rollercoaster of emotions, but if anything it won’t be boring

I think we can all agree, it’s been anything but boring.

Did I ever think that I’d reach this position? No, not really. Although the adage says ‘build it, & they will come’, which may have been true at some stage in history, it’s just less applicable now. I’m constantly looking to improve the offering on Chef Hermes ( a new 5Questions is in the pipeline), as they say in blogging circles:

Content, is King.

There are lots of people I’d like to publically thank for helping getting the site to where it is now: journalists; PRs; Chefs (great & small); advertisers; foodies;fellow bloggers and friends & family. Ultimately, there is one person who has supported this project above & beyond anybody else; my wife, and to her I’m eternally grateful.

To each and everyone of you who have read or commented on my posts, I thank you. Without you, the reader, it would just be me rambling on to myself. It’s just incredibly humbling at times, as just how many of you take time out of your day to visit Chef Hermes, to see what I’ve written.

Again, I can’t thank you enough.
