Seasonal Produce ~ November.

So the clocks have gone back, the evenings are drawing in. But the abundance of great produce that is still around is amazing, big earthy flavours along with the more tropical fruits coming through into their new season.

As ever there is now the PDF printable version, which was hailed as a success from last time.

So here we go, your seasonal produce list for November:

Vegetables

Pumpkin, Beetroot,  Jerusalem artichokes, Broccoli, Leeks, Seaweed, Cabbage, Squash, Cauliflower, Parsnips, Swede, Celeriac, Turnips, Celery, Chestnuts, Chicory, Chillies, Horseradish, Kale, Kohlrabi, Potatoes (maincrop), Pickling onions, Shallots, Swede, Turnips, Watercress.

Fruit & Nuts

Apples, Pears, Quinces, Medlars, Almonds, Chestnuts, Hazelnuts, Walnuts, Cranberries, Elderberries, Passion fruit, Plums, Pineapple, Mango, Satsuma, Clementines, Pomegranates, Dragon fruit.

Game

Goose, Grouse, Guinea fowl, Hare, Mallard, Partridge, Pheasant, Rabbit, Turkey, Wood pigeon, Snipe, Golden plover, Venison (fallow, red & roe – different seasons for Scotland), Woodcock.

Fish

Halibut, Herring, Sea bream, Sprats, Brill, Clams, Coley, Conger eel, Crab, Eel, Haddock, Hake, John Dory, Lemon sole, Lobster, Monkfish, Mussels, Oysters, Plaice, Pollack, Scallops, Sea bass, Skate, Squid, Turbot, Winkles, Cockles, Cod, Dab, Dover sole, Herring, Langoustine, Mackerel, Prawns.

Fungi

Coming to the end of the season, but some still around at the start of the month.
