Latest News: Richard Neat 1

Earlier this week I caught up with former two Michelin star chef Richard Neat. There was a rumour circulating, certainly in London, that Richard was going to be around this weekend and doing an impromptu pop up after the Pierre Koffmann tribute dinner. Having had Mr Neat feature on the blog before I was interested to see if it was true, after all I’d never been fortunate to eat his food during the heady days of Pied à Terre.

Richard Neat has a cerebral writing style which is joy to read (see his ‘5Questions‘), and in our exchange he said that he’d like to write some more, so maybe some more guest posts in the future. But the big news for restaurant goers in the UK and the  Cotes d’Azur is that Mr Neat is looking for a pop up site for September or October 2013. He asked me to point out that he has no intention of returning to the UK on a permanent basis, but as he put it:

just a yearning to use great produce again and see some old faces.

The first place that sprang to mind was The Cube by Electrolux, I got in touch with the PR company (Big thanks to Lou @ Chef Magazine, Tom Kitchin & Ken Holland for helping out with this) but unfortunately it appears that Simon Rogan from L’Enclume will be the last to cook at The Cube on December 31st. Then it’ll be moving on to another destination to be announced shortly.

So, if anybody knows of a location suitable for a Richard Neat pop up, which will almost certainly be sold out please get in touch with the blog, let’s make this happen, many thanks.
