Special awards:

Besides winning 4rosettes, Nathan Outlaw also won Chef’s Chef of the year.

The Lifetime achievement award went to Ruth Rogers of The River Cafe, which has held 3rosettes for as long as the AA Restaurant guide has been in print (1994 is the earliest Restaurant guide, published in 1993).

Comment:

One of the several points of interest from Simon Numphud’s tweets, other than tweeting some of the January releases, was that The Black Swan in Helmsley was one of the new 3rosettes, despite the Head chef leaving in the Summer. Again, the glaringly obvious, is the elephant in the room. When will we see transparency from the AA, when the lines between commercial activity & ratings are so blurred?
