Coworth Park………………..yet another Executive chef required.

Late last week I received yet another email, concerning senior departures at Coworth Park. Ordinarily I wouldn’t bother, as the constant revolving door of staff at the Dorchester Collection’s country outpost, has become somewhat of a standing joke.

Sadly, Executive chef Brian Hughson, is leaving due to illness and has reportedly been on leave for the past 3 weeks.

This now makes the total head count of former Exec chefs for Coworth Park to 3, in 3 ½ years. To lose 1 after opening could be construed as mis-fortunate; to lose 2, is careless; but to lose 3, in nearly as many years is just unthinkable.

Coupled with the departure at Christmas time of Conor Toomey; who was given the responsibility for maintaining the 3 rosettes (which, incidentally, the AA did some consultancy for), in the re-named ‘Restaurant Coworth Park’, after the departure of former 2 Michelin starred chef, John Campbell.

If that isn’t a big enough headache for the senior management, their Ivy League educated Director of Operations, Knut Wylde, is rumoured to be returning to London, for a position at Claridges.

I’d like to offer my best wishes to Mr Hughson for his return to good health, and everybody else with their new adventures.
