Anthony Flinn, get well soon.

Late last night I received a call to arms, a mass text concerning the talented chef Anthony Flinn.

Prior to opening his eponymous restaurant in Leeds, in March 2004, Mr Flinn was more widely known for being one of the first English chefs to have worked at el Bulli. In actual fact, he did two seasons under the 3 Michelin starred Ferran Adria, who was clearly a massive influence on his style of food.

Mr Flinn has briefly made appearances on television, most notably on Great British Menu, but as he says himself:

I’m not prepared to sell my soul for TV… I’m not a smiley person and I don’t jump around joking about.

The distressing text message I have received reads as such:

Calling all chefs

Anthony J Flinn has just gone though 10 day’s of hell! He had a cyst on the brain removed and is bed bound!

I’ve just visited him, wow life can be so fragile! He’s a fighter & has his cheeky smile as normal! Amazing!

Please can you text him over well wishes 07960****** #PassItOn

I’ve written this post to show support to Mr Flinn & his family, it will have a larger reach than most people’s address books, and thus really showing Anthony that he is in our thoughts during this difficult period.

Please, show Anthony Flinn your support by leaving your messages in the comments section below or alternatively, by sending him a tweet to @AnthonyJFlinn.

From everybody connected with ChefHermes.com, we wish you a speedy recovery and we’re looking forward to seeing you in 2014.

Anthony Flinn
