Sorry for not posting last weeks supplement, mainly due to the fact of being away on vacation.
But it’s back & fresh from the generous peeps at Wild Harvest who send it to me.
The following are in stock:
Grey-legged chanterelles (Finland)
Pied Bleu (France)
The chanterelles are looking beautiful; firm and a good texture with a nice colour; they are probably your best bet for this week. The European season for girolle will be coming to an end soon, before we move to the American season. They are a good colour and nice and clean but they are getting a bit big and flowery. Mousserons are beautiful, with a lovely aroma and great liquorice flavour, a nice addition to any dish. Pied Bleu (a wild cultivated mushroom) are back in after a few weeks shortage, they are in very good condition but larger than we saw earlier in the season.
We are expecting sporadic deliveries of trompettes but it is still on an as and when basis. We are now holding out for the South African cep season, which we hope to start next week. As soon as I have either in stock I shall let you know.
We also have the following foraged produce available:
Medlars (from Thursday)
Chickweed (from Thursday)
Wild Harvest are pleased to announce a 10% discount on the Sosa range throughout November 2011. To place your order or to find out more about the range, please contact their office.
As ever a big thanks to Lou at Wild Harvest:
